3D-Laser Scanning

Tritan bought a Mensi GS 200 scanner in 2004.  This scanner has since been replaced with a Trimble GX which we still use for general scanning of rock faces and the like.  For intense scanning of plant we hire a phase based scanner which is much faster than the GX.

Laser scanning allows real world objects to be represented and scale modeled in a virtual 3D computer environment. From here design, measurements and digital triangulation modeling can be implemented.

3D laser scanning is used in a variety of industries including:

  • Film
  • Advertising
  • Architecture
  • Civil design
  • Cultural Heritage
  • Deformation monitoring
  • Film and media
  • Reverse engineering
  • Crime scene and forensics
